Research of image compression using vector quantization applied in the domain of data security
Abstract (summary)
In this thesis the concept of information hiding and its role played in data security area are introduced. Using compressed images with vector quantization as the hiding carrier, we propose ways to hide information in both code book and code reference of compressed images. According to this, we complete a full system for image compression and information hiding under Microsoft Windows 3.1. Finally, various properties of vector quantization and information hiding are discussed.

本文介绍了信息隐藏的概念和它在数据安全方面所起的作用,详细分析了以图象为信息隐藏载体的特点,并针对向量量化这种图象压缩方法提出了通过码本和引用部分的两种不同的信息隐藏方案。据此方案在Windows下实现了一个图象向量量化压缩和信息隐藏系统。最后,讨论和分析了量化及隐藏的各种性质以及各个参数的变化对各项性能指标的影响。
