Abstract
This dissertation is a quantitative correlational examination into one cause of employee turnover in the fast food industry in Southern Ohio. The study examines correlations between ethical position, job satisfaction, and turnover intent among employees in the quick service sector of the hospitality industry. This study employs significant statistical analyses to determine the strength of these positive variable relationships. Included in the analysis are the Cronbach’s Alpha, the Pearson rho correlational analysis, and an analysis of the variances (ANOVA). The results of this internet-based research show a significant correlation in each of the variable combinations. The research data provides enough support to reject each of the null hypotheses, demonstrating a need for practitioners to pay particular attention to managerial ethical behavior in an effort to increase job satisfaction and reduce employee turnover.
