MANILA, June 24 (PNA) -- The decision to come with a Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with Japan highlights the robust relationship the Philippines has with its Japanese ally.
"To some observers, the President's announcement of a Visiting Forces Agreement with Japan as a bit of surprise. But there is nothing to be surprised about, for the matter of a Visiting Forces Agreement with Japan is a manifestation of the current state of Philippines-Japan bilateral relationship (which I could say as robust), as moving the relationship forward, meaning deepening the partnership further,"National Defense (DND) Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said on Wednesday.
