Abstract
It was performed, in this work, an analysis about the preferential pressure with which the minimum external diameter of the press roll and its correspondent workforce is determined. It was defined that the decrease of the pressure has relatively little effect on the diameter of the roll for a monolithic press. The diameter will decrease only 5% when reducing the pressure in up to 30%. However, the external diameter is more influenced in the presses of compound rolls. Comparing the optimized pressures in the compound rolls by two and three rings with the simple roll, it was verified that the roll with two rings presented a decrease of the external diameter of 9,5% and, in the roll of three rings, this decrease was of 13%. The proposed optimization is used in the rolls for the synthesis of synthetic diamonds.
