Soon, not a single nation in the world will keep an embassy in Israel's capital of Jerusalem. The city achieved that distinction on Friday, Aug. 27, when El Salvador announced it would move its embassy.
A week earlier, Costa Rica - the only other country that kept an embassy in Israel's capital city - announced that it would move its diplomatic mission to Tel Aviv.
While some political observers are bemoaning the city's loss of these two diplomatic missions, we prefer to keep things in perspective: Jerusalem will remain the capital, functioning normally while the nation's diplomatic community continues to commute to and from the city to do business.
