LEEDS RHINOS have signed nine Keighley Cougars players for the knock-down price of pounds 25,000 in a deal which will ensure the survival of the penurious First Division club at least until the end of the season.
Under the agreement, Leeds will loan back some or all of the players so that they can take part in the play-offs. "This is not an attempt to buy up Keighley," said Leeds's chief executive Gary Hetherington. "It is a straightforward transfer transaction."
