Abstract

College students’ behaviors put them at higher risk for contracting HIV/AIDS, but there is little data about this population of emerging concern. This study seeks to isolate where college students learn about HIV/AIDS, the media’s role in educating young people and their attitudes and behaviors regarding the disease. More information on young people’s attitudes, knowledge and experiences with HIV/AIDS is necessary to craft persuasive messages to encourage safer sexual and preventative behaviors in this group.
