Abstract (summary)

The following empirical evidence reveals that trust plays an essential role in the process of macroeconomic development. Chapter 1 contains an introduction to the material. Chapter 2 has a general empirical analysis of the trust's role in the process of development. Chapter 3 includes an analysis of trust's impact on the rate of factor accumulation. Chapter 4 contains an examination of trust's effect on the Solow model. Some concluding remarks are provided in Chapter 5.
