Towards a Korean American theological response to racism
The Korean American Church has too often been silent when it has come to matters of race. It is a social topic or political topic, relegated to the fellowship hall, or worse, outside the church. The Korean American Church must be prophetic and pastoral. It must be pastoral by affirming the identity of Korean Americans so that the coming generations do not lose their identity and know that their culture is not superfluous, but part of God's will for them. It must be prophetic by speaking truth against the injustice and pain of racism. The Korean American Church, above all, must lead the discussion for what it means to struggle against racism. It cannot simply sit on the sidelines.
