Abstract (summary)

Mzungu: the Foreigner is a nonfiction narrative about the year I spent living in Moshi, Tanzania. The work is structured as a series of chronological vignettes that explore everyday life in a Tanzanian city, as well as my relationship with my family history. The narrative also touches on issues of personal identity, race, and gender.
