L'utilisation des technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC) lors de la fonction essayage vestimentaire

According to the prophets of «cybersky», the e-commerce would modify the traditional way of buying clothes. One can expect that the clothing industry of the twenty-first century would join the information and communication technologies (ICT). One way of using it with the fashion industry would be the improvement of the fitting. Even if the statistics show an increase of the shopping on line, it seems that there is a lot of dissatisfaction regarding the products received (sizes, colors,…) and that the virtual trying on is steel working its way out.

Because the standards sizes have not been up-dated since many years they cause frustrations and waste of time and money (to the consumers and the manufacturers). This research shows that the use of ITC would improve the garment industry by updating the standards sizes. This research also shows that certain variables are essentials to the trying function, as the aesthetic, the fitting and the need to be advised which have not been taken in consideration by the actual virtual trying-on. After having listed the available ICT, knowing that we are at the beginning of the use of ICT, we propose a new way of using the ICT that would be beneficial to the fitting function. This new way of seeing the virtual trying-on, propose a mix of reality and virtual, which also could allow the distributors to know exactly what is tried on. This research also demonstrates that this integration must be progressive.
