WHMM-TV32 will air a combination of history, music, comedy, business, sports, and ethnic programming during its special 17-day spring membership drive, Friday, March 6 through March 22.
In its sixth year as a public broadcasting station in the Washington Metropolitan area, Channel 32 has set a goal to raise $150,000 during its Spring "Memberthon '32."
"While verbal expressions of satisfaction and praise on the quality of our programming is overwhelming," said WHMM's General Manager Arnold Wallace, "we are optimistic, during this membership drive, that our viewers will give more thought to the important role they play in assuring the continuation of such programming."
Memberthon '32 will kick off this Friday at 8 p.m. with actress Jayne Kennedy, who will introduce some of the most popular performers on college campuses on "American Campus Tours." Later that evening, three of the world's greatest names in music -- Oscar Peterson, Michel Legrand, and Claude Bolling -- will meet in a once-in-a-lifetime jazz...
