Abstract (summary)

The song, like all forms of expression, is largely inspired by everyday life, so it inevitably undergoes the influence of urban reality which, since the beginning of the XX$\sp{th}$ century, has occupied a preponderant place. in Quebec society. The city is initially viewed negatively by people who have fled the countryside in order to survive; slowly, it becomes an essential space whose influence is felt. The purpose of this thesis is to first paint a portrait of the evolution of the notion of urbanity and the values associated with it in Quebec song, then, secondly, to describe the process modification of the perception of the city in the Quebec imagination, from the 1930s to the 1990s.
