Who hasn't wanted to kill their boss at one time or another? So Dead Boss starts with a universal theme, which is always good in a new show.
It bluntly parodies every prison drama ever made, but sadly failed to meet my expectations - or maybe I just expected too much from the brilliant Sharon Horgan. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Dead Boss and laughed out loud a lot, but I wanted it to draw me into a familiar telly prison drama world more subtly and then hit me between the eyes with some extremely well-observed humour.
Instead it made nonsense of it all and thus spoilt my enjoyment of the prison genre forever - although to be fair, ITV1's Bad Girls did that job equally well more than 10 years ago.
Jools Holland: London Calling is a really well-made documentary, but too linear in its -execution for my taste. I am probably not the target audience, but not being adverse to history on TV and occasionally tapping my feet to a good tune, I do feel London Calling could have done more to entertain me and...
