A pounds 1 MILLION scheme to repair two of Huddersfield's busiest roads has been approved.
But the thumbs-up means four months of roadworks on a key commuter route, beginning next week.
Kirklees Council's Cabinet yesterday took just five minutes to give the green light for resurfacing work along Wakefield Road at Dalton and Penistone Road at Fenay Bridge.
Both roads form part of the A629 - a busy link road connecting Huddersfield to Wakefield and the villages towards Sheffield.
The council's revamp of Penistone Road is due to start after a 13-week project by Northern Gas.
The road will be re-laid...
