As part of its ongoing mission of advancing the careers of artists, producers, managers, technicians and other professionals in the arts and entertainment industries, the Apollo Theater announced a series of education programs for the 2012-2013 season, including the launch of the Master Class Series, a talent development seminar, and the return of its Behind the Scenes Career Panel. Both programs are part of the Apollo Theater Academy, which focuses on talent development and providing mentoring and training in arts and entertainment administration.
Master Class
The Apollo's Master Class Talent Development Seminars, offer up-and-coming artists as well as early career professionals the opportunity to engage in authentic skill assessment and coaching in a supportive environment. Master Class continues the legacy of the Apollo as a place where artists and entertainers learn informally about the principles and ethics of show business, and provides participants with guidance on the basic elements of their craft, personal presentation in the public arena, business and legal considerations, and marketing and publicity. Each Master Class will be facilitated by an industry professional.
The seminars launch Saturday, November 10, 2012 with the Master Class Songwriting Seminar with Gordon Chambers. The award winning singer/songwriter will lead a class designed to help aspiring and experienced lyricists.
