Islamic Iran has been under the harshest weapons sanctions imposed by Western countries during the past three decades and in view of the fact that most modern military equipment belong to Western countries, Islamic Iran has had no access to new weapons since the revolution's victory. Not only this has not reduced Iran's defense capabilities, our country has moved toward a kind of indigenization with the help of its scientists and engineers. The outcome of this indigenization has been extremely successful; to the extent that Iran has turned into one of the most dominant powers in the region and in the world as far as modern weapons are concerned. One of the fields in which Iran has had significant progress is the naval field. The construction of various types of missiles, destroyers and submarines is among our country's defense achievements, made indigenously, during the past years.
In recent days, numerous news reports have been published about our country's new defense achievements in the naval field. It was a short while ago when it was announced that the main structure of the Sina-7 missile launcher warship had been completed.
