VOEST-ALPINE Industrieanlagenbau GmbH (VAI) is a leading international metallurgical plant builder and a systems supplier for both individual and integrated plants.
Through its parent VATech, Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau has 54.75% of its shares privately held, 21.25% held by VOEST ALPINE Stahl and the remainder by the Austrian Government.
Growing from its initial role as the plant building arm of VOEST ALPINE Stahl, the company was established as a separate entity some 41 years ago. Its technological capability covers the complete spectrum of iron and steel production technologies, extending from agglomeration, fine ore reduction (FINMET), COREX ironmaking, LD (BOF) and EAF steelmaking, continuous casting of slabs, blooms, billets and beam blanks, rolling technology for hot and cold mills, strip processing lines, tube and pipe mills, automation & VAIONEER process control systems. In addition there are energy saving and environmental technologies (eg AIRFINE).
