'Legal tennis' driving Van Gisbergen around bend
SHANE Van Gisbergen wants to sit down with the owner of the team he walked out on and end a 12-month legal battle that threatened to end his V8 career.
A year after storming his way to a debut win for Holden after quitting his contract with the team that became Erebus Motorsport V8, Van Gisbergen has opened up about the legal battle that has him facing an Unconscionable Conduct claim in the Federal Court.
There were threats of legal action that could have stopped him from taking the grid in last year's Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
Van Gisbergen quit the sport and his team Stone Brother's Racing mid- contract before signing on with Tekno Autosport in a move that enraged his former employer, who had become Erebus and dumped Ford for Mercedes.
