MARK Curry has had many roles in a diverse career that has taken him from children's television to the West End.
However, his latest role in All Creatures Great And Small brings him firmly back to his roots in Yorkshire.
The tender and heart-warming tales of country vet James Herriot, among the dales and moors, farmhouses and public houses of North Yorkshire, were expertly captured in a series of novels which have sold in their millions all over the world, and which have been made into two films and a classic BBC TV series.
The adventures of James, Siegfried and his easy-going brother Tristan Farnon, are brought to life alongside the unique characters - and animals - that live and work on the moors.
The line-up for this reinterpretation of the much-loved tales includes Oliver Mellor from Coronation Street, veteran actress Susan Penhaligon, Clare Buck-field from 2Point4 Children, Lee Latchford-Evans from multimillion-selling pop group Steps and former TV favourite Curry.
For the Blue Peter presenter turned established actor, the new production backed by theatre impressario Bill Kenwright, is a cleverly worked take on Herriot's vivid stories of working as a vet in an area that is far from a rural idyll.
