Catholic Bishops have called on the government to come clean on the ongoing tetanus vaccine campaign by ensuring that the vials are tested and credible results released to Kenyans.
Bishop Paul Kariuki Njiru, Chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) Catholic Health Commission of Kenya questioned why, "there was lack of public information and education about the Tetanus vaccine whereas other vaccination programmes such as Polio are always preceded by public awareness."
The bishop was addressing journalists at Waumini House in Westlands, Nairobi on Thursday October 16.
"There is no clear rationale for the Tetanus Vaccination. What informed this initiative even after we raised an issue of safety during the Tetanus Vaccination in March 2014," he asked.
