Neel Kolhatkar's comedy life began as the class clown. He grasped it with both hands and is taking his unique brand of humour to the world
Comedian Neel Kolhatkar has a secret.
For years, he hasn't told anyone - until now.
"For multicultural day at school, we were told to bring in a dish that represented our culture, and everyone expected me to bring a curry or something," the 21-year-old of Indian descent recalls.
"So my mum bought some packaged Samosas from Coles. Yes, Coles! "And I won a prize for the most authentic multicultural food. How funny is that?" Kolhatkar, from Sydney, started rapidly making a name for himself on the Australian comedy circuit after his 2013 YouTube hit "Australia in two minutes".
The viral video, which shows Kolhatkar doing impressions of people from different towns around the country, has almost 3.4 million views to date.
Many of his subsequent videos range from about 350,000 to 2.3 million views. The language is foul and the words are usually politically incorrect, but the material is often hilarious.
