[OP-044]
Objective: To investigate cervical cytology and colposcopic biopsy outcomes in patients with postcoital bleeding.
Material and Methods: We reviewed clinical and pathological fetures of patients with postcoital bleeding who had undergone cytology and colposcopy guided biopsy between 2007-2015 at Baskent University Hospital in Ankara.
Results: 287 patients were included in the present study. The mean patient age was 38.97±7.44 and most of the patients (81.9%) were mothers. Cytology was abnormal in 87 (31.3%) patients (Figure 1). Histologic diagnosis showed that 200 (69.7%) patients had normal results however 17 (5.9%) patients had cervical cancer (Figure 2).
Conclusion: Postcoital bleeding is mostly associated with normal cytology and histology however a comprehensive clinical examination should be conducted to all patients with postcoital bleeding.
