Three Hills Library Born in Derbyshire, England, author Simon Rose now makes his home in Calgary. Growing up near the Peak District National Park and the town of Chesterfield, famous for its medieval church with the crooked spire, his younger years lent much to his writer's soul and imagination.
His first novel, The Alchemist's Portrait, was published in 2003, followed by many more books, both fiction and non-fiction, for young adults, middle grade, and younger readers. He has a degree in history and is a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature. He has called Calgary home since 1990.
