TOM CLARK: Their stories fascinate us. Their courage and strength and sometimes sheer luck in the face of disaster is the stuff of books and movies. But what happens to the survivors of near-death experiences after the media spotlight fades away? How do they cope and carry on? CTV's medical specialist Avis Favaro went looking for answers from past survivors.
AVIS FAVARO (Reporter): It was 1978, an Air Canada jet crashed trying to take off from Toronto. Landed in three pieces at the end of the runway. Two passengers were killed, over 100 were injured, among them flight attendant Richard Begin.
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: You aren't experiencing any problems?
