Former Radio 1 broadcaster Andy spent 13 years at the station presenting a variety of shows, often involving interviews with some of the biggest names in music - including John Lennon, just two days before his death. His upcoming show An Evening With Andy Peebles marks his 45 years in radio. London-born Andy, 68, lives with his wife Anne in Lancashire.
"I grew up listening to the great voices of radio, including newsreader John Snagge, Billy Cotton, Kenneth Horne and then the pirate radio DJs.
"While I was studying a course in hotel management in Bournemouth, my year arranged a college dance and I put myself forward to DJ the disco. It led to two nights a week and then full-time work as a DJ.
