NEW YORK With its renovation of the New Amsterdam Theater for "The Lion King's" coronation two years ago, the Walt Disney Co. did much to dispel the notion that the annual New Year's eve extravaganza is Times Square's sole claim to fame. Since then, the renaissance of Times Square and 42nd Street has continued, with renewed interest in the area by entrepreneurs and media companies alike.
Brendan Sexton, president of the Times Square Business Improvement District, describes the neighborhood as "New York's New York - a huge massing of artistic effort that is unlike anything else in North America.71
