* A new air link between the capital city of southwest China's Yunnan province and Vientiane, capital of Laos, opened to traffic in January. The flight is operated by the Lao Aviation Development Venture co. Ltd. (LADVCL), a joint venture of Laos and the Yunnan Aviation Co., once on Sundays. With the expansion, LADVCL will operate flights in seven international markets. China Eastern Airlines also operates in the market. * Lufthansa signed an agreement with Adria Airways, of Slovenia, to operate joint flights between Frankfurt and Munich to Ljubljana from Jan. 1, 1996. Timetables have been harmonized to enable passengers of both airlines to catch connecting flights at Frankfurt and Munich. * Laker Airways may fly again now that the U.S. Department of Transportation has granted approval to Sir Freddie Laker to provide transatlantic air transportation. McDonnell Douglas DC-10 flights between London Gatwick and Orlando and Fort Lauderdale are scheduled to begin March 27. In addition, Laker Airways will operate Manchester- Orlando and Glasgow-Orlando services. * Northwest Airlines and KLM, despite their current legal conflicts involving ownership rights, will enhance their joint schedules between New York, San Francisco and Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Amsterdam. In the New York market, Northwest will begin operating one of the two daily joint venture flights now operated by KLM between Kennedy Airport and Amsterdam June 1.
