It wasn't too long ago that luxury condominiums in Westchester County were virtually nonexistent. Then downtown White Plains started to undergo a transformation and over the last couple of years, top developers have begun building high-end high-rise condos.
"I have often said that the new concept of 'going downtown' means going to White Plains, not Manhattan," Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano said about all the developments around White Plains. "We have had some major players come in with regards to condos ... it validates the growing importance of White Plains and Westchester County as being among the most prestigious locations in the Northeast."
When you combine a real estate tycoon like Donald J. Trump with one of Westchester County's most noted developers, Louis R. Cappelli, you're going to get something special. So when Westchester's first luxury tower was built in White Plains thanks to this duo's partnership, it helped transform the city into one of the hottest downtown addresses around.
The 35-story, 212-unit Trump Tower now stands as the tallest building between New York City and Albany and has picturesque views of the Manhattan skyline, Long Island Sound and the wooded hills of Westchester and the Hudson River Valley.
At the condo's opening, Cappelli was very happy with the result. "This is an exciting moment for all of us involved in this project. I want to thank everybody who helped to open Westchester's first luxury high-rise condominium," Cappelli said. "In less than a year, Trump Tower virtually sold out with only a handful of apartments still remaining. It's truly a phenomenon and a triumph for White Plains and firmly establishes downtown White Plains as one of the nation's top residential markets."
The high-rise not only offers outstanding views, but residents are treated to amenities like a business center, concierge service, valet parking, a Trump Club Lounge, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, billiard room rand a family room for children to play in.
Of course, this was just the latest in Cappelli's development in White Plains. He's already completed the 35-story, 311-unit luxury rental apartment...
