Abstract
Celebrated New York restaurateur Sirio Maccioni will move Le Cirque, long a favorite of the city's social set and educated palates, to The New York Palace hotel. The restaurant will occupy the 2nd floor of the Villard mansion, a set of 6 magnificent brownstone houses adjacent to the hotel. Maccioni has spared no expense in selecting the silverware or outfitting the kitchen - both in top-of-the-line brand names. The new Le Cirque's main dining room will feature an open kitchen. The restaurant will also feature a bar area serving casual food from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., a room for private parties, and another room that will allow cigarette smokers to enjoy their meals in compliance with New York's tough anti-smoking laws. The hotel will continue to maintain its own kitchen and staff for banquets and the majority of meals served in rooms, according to Richard Cotter, the Palace's managing director.
