Perry Drug Stores Inc. is about to restructure its merchandising, marketing and pharmacy operations. The changes come on the heels of what Chairman and CEO Jack Robinson, writing in the company's 1993 annual report, called "a disappointing and painful year."
Word of the restructuring came in Perry's announcement about the hiring of a senior executive and the promotion of another.
Jerry Kuske was hired for the new position of senior vice president-merchandising. Kuske came from Oregon-based PayLess Drug Stores, where he had held various executive slots since 1974.
Kuske effectively replaces Stephen Lund, who was vice president of merchandising. Perry spokesman Berl Falbaum said Lund "left to do other things."
Perry President and COO Andy Giancamilli said in a news release: "Jerry Kuske is a highly talented executive who is charged with restructuring our merchandising and marketing operations."
