Abstract

A confirmed naturalist with an eye for composition, Marjolein Bastin's Dutch garden embodies dual identities. The garden was redesigned to reflect Bastin's "if you cannot beat them, baffle them" philosophy. Now sedum, lady's mantle, lavender, and standard roses are corralled within protective nonedible parterres.
