2010 TRIUMPH THUNDERBIRD
* Triumph's Thunderbird model name goes back to Edward Turner's 1 950 650 twin, so the company was determined to keep that engine format. It tasked American designer Tim Prentice with drawing a contemporary cruiser with a vertical twin, and this is what he delivered. The twist here is that the big 1 ,600-cc DOHC twin has a crankshaft that furnishes a 270-degree firing order, making it sound like a V-twin. In the cruiser market, that's pretty much de rigueur.
