THE TWO WARRING OWNERS of the famed Apthorp apartment building have won an extra six days to work out their differences before one of their lenders moves to throw the building into default.
Maurice Mann, an owner of the West Side landmark, said that lender Apollo Real Estate Advisors had agreed to extend the default deadline to Jan. 15 from Friday, Jan. 9, because the two sides are working on a settlement.
The property's other owner, billionaire diamond merchant Lev Leviev, has been seeking to have Mr. Mann removed as the manager of the building and the condominium conversion. In December, Mr. Leviev filed an emergency injunction to force Mr. Mann into arbitration to settle the matter, and last week a judge ruled he must comply.
