THERE'S RESHUFFLING GOING on among the law firms that predominate as tenants at tony 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine is looking to leave the 2.9 million-square-foot Rockefeller Center office tower, where it occupies nearly 100,000 square feet, because of a planned merger with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.
If that deal gets done, Donovan Leisure intends to move into its new mate's offices at 666 Fifth Ave. If the merger, which recently bogged down over client conflicts, should fall through, Donovan Leisure will need a smaller office. That's because numerous partners defected to other firms in anticipation of the merger.
Cushman & Wakefield Inc., which is hunting for new space for Donovan Leisure, declined to comment on its efforts.
Another law firm that is one of 30 Rock's largest tenants, Chadbourne & Parke, has signed a 16-year lease for an additional 34,353 square feet, increasing its presence to 333,979 square feet.
