We have celebrated our 5th annual Harlem Book Fair and, by all measures, it was a huge success. Attendance was estimated at almost 30,000. We experienced a record number of vendors and presenters, featured our most impressive line-up of established authors, and hosted a record number of out-of-town visitors. By all counts, this year's growth was exponential and next year promises more.
And this is where our distinctions begin: The Harlem Book Fair is clearly developing into an event that is totally representative of our entire black effort in publishing. Both popular and established authors -- those who are recognized and listened to by the reading public, are presented to a live national audience through our C-Span televised panel discussions.
