West Virginia's role in history was celebrated at Oglebay Park's Fort Henry Festival Sept. 3-4 by about 260 re-enactors from around the country who came together to recreate the final battle between British loyalists and patriots back in 1782.
The fort, built in 1774 not far from what is now Heritage Port in downtown Wheeling, quickly became one of the I most important forts on the frontier.
