It's "the greatest soap opera ever written"--to use Stephen Moorer's description of Shakespeare's War of the Roses cycle--and the credits have started to roll at Pacific Repertory Theatre, in Carmel, Calif. On Aug. 10, the company kicks off "Royal Blood: The Rise and Fall of Kings," a planned four-year project that will involve mounting 10 of the Bard's history plays, concluding with Richard III in 2004. Artistic director Moorer will stage the first two installments: Edward III and Thomas of Woodstock.
