Slowly but surely, Tribune Co. has been integrating its two Indianapolis television stations.
For a while after the Chicago-based media company added WTTV-TV Channel 4 to its portfolio, General Manager Rick Rogala shuttled between its Bluff Road facility and WXIN-TV Channel 59's Meridian Street studios.
Four months later, most WTTV staffers have joined their colleagues downtown.
Now, another relocation appears to be on the horizon-for everyone.
IBJ reported in July the local Fox affiliate had been shopping for new space. Last week, the City-County Council granted a request to rezone about four acres of Intech Park on Indianapolis' northwest side, allowing for construction of a 150foot broadcast tower.
Documents filed with the rezoning request identified the property as the Tribune-Indiana facility. On one record, the land is labeled the "Fox 59 parcel."
Rogala declined to answer questions about Tribune's plans, responding to calls from IBJ with a voice-mail message saying he had no comment.
