The male condom is a covering worn over the penis during intercourse with female or male partners. When used correctly, condoms can help protect you and your partner against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). They provide less protection against other viral STIs, such as herpes or genital warts, which may be spread by contact with skin not covered by the condom.
