THE BBC is to spend £150,000 on a series of "hopepunk" podcasts that it hopes will make anxious millennials feel more positive.
Defined as a "new optimistic movement", the hopepunk genre is said to offer positive content. The term is so new that mainstream dictionaries are yet to define it.
Examples of hopepunk include the Netflix science fiction series Sense8 and the superhero fantasy The Umbrella Academy because they adopt "a mood of consciously chosen gentleness".
