The ink on the Viacom/CBS deal wasn't even wetmuch less dry-before CBS Chairman Mel Karmazin made his first power play, forcing out the two top lieutenants and heirs apparent to Viacom Chairman and CEO Sumner Redstone.
Karmazin crossed Viacom's deputy chairmen Philippe Dauman and Tom Dooley out of the deal in the middle of the negotiations, insisting that there was no room for any kind of group executive suite at the top floor of Viacom's headquarters, said sources familiar with the talks.
