Five weeks before her death, Annie Altschul participated in a Festschrift (i.e., a presentation of writings), celebrating her contributions to psychiatric nursing. In preparation for the event, hosted by the Department of Nursing Studies, The University of Edinburgh, and the Royal College of Nursing's UK Centre for the History of Nursing, all participants read a set of reports Annie had written about her visit to the United States in 1960-61.
