Novell Inc. may be trailing Microsoft Corp. in the desktop operating system market, but it is waging an all-out war on the server side.
While Provo-based Novell has stopped virtually all new DOS development, it sent UnixWare 2.0 into beta testing last week with plans for a broad beta next month. The new version adds symmetrical multiprocessing, supporting databases that perform multiple queries simultaneously using different microprocessors.
