Author Martha Honey, director of the Peace and Security Program at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., offers a well-written and extensively researched text devoted to the economic aspects of exploiting "nature" tourism as part of a strategy of sustainable development in various developing countries. The first three chapters discuss general aspects of tourism and the tourist industry. The work then discusses eco or "green" tourism in the context of seven country studies: the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), Costa Rica, Cuba, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya and South Africa.
