The Verrazano Narrows Bridge in New York, the longest suspension bridge in the U.S., is undergoing a $45 million deck rehabilitation to repair chloride-induced damage. The deck will be repaired with relatively impermeable latex-modified concrete (LMC). The project's design and materials specifications were influenced by the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority's objective of achieving a 20-year life from the rehabilitated deck slabs.
