NEW YORK -- Just two months after buying the Russian Tea Room and unveiling a grandiose remodeling plan, Warner LeRoy of Tavern On The Green will team up with acclaimed chef-owner David Bouley to make the project even more stratospheric.
In an unusual pairing, the flashy owner of Tavern On The Green and Bouley, the reserved chef-owner whose namesake restaurant consumes the wallets and affections of fine-dining aficionados, will combine their talents in a partnership to run the reborn Russian Tea Room.
Bouley will become the executive chef of the Russian Tea Room, and his hot restaurant in TriBeCa is expected to be reconfigured with a more downscale, casual atmosphere.
