It's a well known fact that extended periods of dreary winter weather can trigger a depression faster than you can say Prozac. Call it what you like -- seasonal associated depression or the good old fashioned winter blues -- the end result is the same. It's that mid-winter funk that makes everything seem drab and gray. The cure? Make like a snowbird and head for the sun!

From museums and galleries to shopping and outdoor activities, this Arizona haven provides a wide variety of accessible diversions to help shake those winter blues.

This pedestrian friendly area features wide sidewalks, ubiquitous curb-cuts, accessible shops and a free lift-equipped shuttle. And don't miss the Thursday evening Art Walks, where participating galleries showcase their creations and provide light snacks and entertainment. Call the Scottsdale Arts District hotline (480-990-3939) or visit www.ScottsdaleGalleries.com for Art Walk schedules and information.
