Seven decades after her father was killed in one of Stalin's concentration camps, Hungarian Marta Meszaros took centrestage at the Kolkata Film Festival, a cultural venture of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
Film director Meszaros, who exposed the cruelty of the Stalin era, has been invited to the festival as an 'honored' guest. Little Vilma - The Last Diary, one of her seven films scheduled to be screened, has already attracted the attention of Kolkata's Left circle.
She had visited India earlier also, to attend film festivals at other places and is a familiar name among the country's film fraternity.
