Mridula Koshy, writer of the acclaimed short story collection If It Is Sweet, was awarded the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize in a ceremony at the British Council on Monday. Koshy, whose tender stories with a vocabulary of their own, bring alive the lives of Delhi's working class, received the prize from television journalist Sagarika Ghose.
The prize, created by the family of the late editor/writer Shakti Bhatt to keep her memory alive, carries a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy. Koshy beat competition from five other...
